With this asymmetrical dress, I wanted to pay homage to Wanda's incredible journey, while also incorporating elements of the old-school television they portrayed so masterfully. The rich grey taffeta on the bottom of the dress evokes memories of Wanda's original dress from the first episode, while the custom-printed chiffon with neopixel-programmed lighting underneath recreates the pulse of scan lines on vintage televisions and ‘The Hex’ that surrounds Westview.
The top of the dress is inspired by Wanda's final form as the Scarlet Witch, featuring rich red peachskin, a faux leather bodice, and an off-the-shoulder sleeve bodysuit made out of stretch sheer and power mesh. My overall goal with this look is to showcase Wanda's incredible transformation from a simple black-and-white sitcom wife to the all-powerful witch she was meant to be. I hope this dress can serve as a tribute to her incredible journey and the legacy she has left in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
